The Jeans Fit Card — 6 Checks Before You Buy Another Pair (FREE GUIDE)

The Jeans Fit Card — 6 Checks Before You Buy Another Pair (FREE GUIDE) 2025

The Jeans Fit Card

Before you buy another pair, check whether the jeans are actually the problem.

A pair can still fit and still feel slightly wrong. Very often the change is not the denim itself, but the relationship around it — the line of the leg, the length, the shoe, the waist and what the rest of the outfit is asking the jeans to do. This one-page card gives you the six checks from the video in a form you can keep on your phone while you dress or shop.

What is on the card:
— straight, not narrow: the line stays even instead of quietly tapering at the ankle
— wide stays long: enough length for the volume to finish cleanly
— close above, open below: the quieter modern bootcut / flare relationship
— narrow needs a stronger ending: let the shoe or boot complete the lower line
— the waist sits in a calmer mid-to-high zone instead of becoming the whole outfit
— one accent is enough: let the denim stay quiet and decide where the eye should go

There is no “one correct jean” on this page. The point is to help you see why a pair works — or why it does not — before you replace something that may still have a useful place in your wardrobe.

The Autumn Outfit Check: 5 Ideas to Try With Clothes You Own (FREE Guide)

A cream sweater, a striped shirt, a pair of trousers. Change where the layers finish, or repeat one colour, and the same three pieces look considered rather than assembled.

The Autumn Outfit Check: 5 Ideas to Try With Clothes You Own (FREE Guide) 2025

Simona Bertolotto is 55, Italian, and posts as @sissiottostyle. Her outfits have personality even when they are a sweater and trousers — because of what happens between the pieces, not the pieces themselves. Five of those moves, as we read them.

IT’S NOT YOUR ARMS – IT’S THE SLEEVE

Style Mechanics · Sleeves

If a top makes your arms feel heavier, shorter or somehow “wrong,” the problem may not be your arms at all. A few centimetres of sleeve, a visible forearm, a narrower cuff or a second layer can completely change the relationship between shoulder, arm, hand and the rest of the outfit.

IT'S NOT YOUR ARMS - IT'S THE SLEEVE 2025

The sleeve is one of the quietest proportion tools in a wardrobe. We notice the colour, neckline and trousers first, but the sleeve decides where the eye stops, how much of the arm is visible and whether the hand feels connected to the rest of the outfit.

That means the same body can look completely different without changing the body at all. Push a sleeve upward and the forearm appears. End the garment earlier and the wrist gains space. Add volume above a smaller opening and the sleeve becomes a shape rather than a tube. Let another cuff or layer continue beyond the first sleeve and suddenly the ending looks intentional.

There are four useful ways to work with this. None requires hiding your arms. The goal is simply to choose where the sleeve ends, where the volume sits and what happens next.

One Point of Delight

Elegant clothes do not have to be obedient clothes.

Having fun with what you wear does not require a new personality or a new wardrobe. It requires one controlled point of delight inside clothes that already feel like you. This one-page guide shows you where to put it — and how far to go.

What is on the guide:
— the 5 decisions: keep the base, choose the lead, change the shape, repeat a signature, wear it today
— the 3 levels of play: detail, relationship, statement
— the five-minute test you can run before you leave the house
— the one-second mirror check for outfits that feel slightly off
— one clear page to save or print

There is no shopping list on it. What is on it instead is the relationship between pieces — which works in any year, at any price, with the clothes already hanging in your wardrobe.

Fall 2026 Fashion Guide Early Access

Fall 2026 Fashion Guide Early Access 2025

Early Access · Founding Price · First Week Only

The Fall 2026 Guide

The runways this autumn are unusually loud. Almost none of it was designed with a woman past fifty in mind.

So I have been through all of it properly — every major collection, every trend the shops are about to fill up with — and sorted it into what is actually wearable, what needs adjusting first, and what to walk past no matter how many times you see it. Most of it works with clothes you already own. The guide is nearly finished.

What the early list gets:
1. It first. A day before it goes out to anyone else.
2. The founding price. It stands for the first week and it does not come back.
3. The price before it is announced. You will know what it costs before the number appears anywhere else.

Joining costs nothing and commits you to nothing. It only means you hear first, and pay less if you decide you want it.

Put me on the early list

Your email, and nothing else. You will hear the moment the guide is ready, at the founding price.

No spam. The guide when it is ready, and occasional practical notes on making your wardrobe feel current and easier to wear.

The Twist Card — five rules, five mirror checks, one page

The Twist Card — five rules, five mirror checks, one page 2025

The Twist Card

Elegant and classic is the easy part. The twist is what keeps it from looking dated.

The industry is happy to sell you elegant and classic. It stops there — and elegant-and-classic, left on its own, is exactly what starts to read older than you are. The twist is five small rules that keep a correct outfit from looking like it stopped moving in 1998. Every one of them uses something already hanging up.

What is on the card:
1. The Borrowed Line — borrow the stronger, tailored line; add ease, not more softness
2. The Deliberate Wrong Note — four things that agree, one that does not, on purpose
3. The Eye-Level Finish — put the one clear decision up near your face
4. The Grounded Soft — anchor anything soft with one harder piece
5. The Colour Anchor — wear the print you love, give the eye one place to rest
— the piece that carries each rule
— and the mirror check you run before you leave the house

There is nothing to buy on it. Five rules, five checks, one page — and all five can be run on clothes you already own, this morning, before you leave the house.

5 August Corrections

5 August Corrections

Your summer clothes did not stop working. The light did.

August is not a hole in your wardrobe. It is a hole in what the industry bothers to make for it — four weeks nobody designs for, sitting between the holiday they sell you in June and the coat they sell you in September. Five corrections close it, and every one of them uses something already hanging up.

What is on the card:
1. The Bone Shift — warm only what touches your face
2. The Fourth Point — keep three open, close the one at the floor
3. The Single Surface Break — one grain, never two
4. The Weightless Third — one light layer, nothing to fasten
5. The Single Metal Signal — one warm piece, never a stack
— the piece that carries each correction
— and the check you run in the mirror before you leave

There is nothing to buy on it. Five corrections, five checks, one page — and all five can be run on clothes you already own, this morning, before you leave the house.

The Shoe Edit — Five Rules for Shoes You Can Actually Walk In

The Shoe Edit — Five Rules for Shoes You Can Actually Walk In 2025

Free · One Page · Phone Friendly

The Shoe Edit

Somewhere along the way we were handed a choice nobody should have to make.

One aisle has cushioning, arch support and a shape built around an actual foot. The other has a shape built around a photograph. Pick a side, and you will be told you chose wrongly either way — too sensible, or too sore to stand in.

That division is a shelf-stocking decision, not a law. Five rules take it apart — and each one comes with a check you can run in a shop in about two seconds, before you look at the price. This free one-page card is all five, written down.

What is on the card:
1. The sole test — the two seconds that rule out most of the shelf
2. The hem handoff — why the shoe answers to the trouser, not the top
3. The loud foot licence — when a shoe is allowed to be the event
4. Sharp outside, wide inside — the toe shape that flatters and still fits
5. The rotation — why a small number of pairs covers a whole year
— the check that goes with each rule
— what to look for before you look at the price
— and the one rule that is allowed to break the others

There is no shopping list on it. A shopping list is out of stock by October. What is on it works in any year, at any price, in any shop — and four of the five rules can be satisfied with shoes already in your wardrobe.
