What Goes Under the Coat

Max Mara is known for its coats. But look at what goes underneath, runway after runway, and the same few ideas keep coming back. We found ten of them — simple decisions you can copy with clothes you most likely already own.

Then we counted 25 coat outfits from Max Mara’s own store this autumn. Ten worn with denim. Twenty with wide or relaxed trousers. Seventeen with a knit under the coat. And not one high heel.
